APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE OF OUR SOLUTION

System & Application Reliability
The Intellvisions i-Serve range of Kiosks uses an embedded OS with minimal footprint burnt into a solid state storage device. By isolating the OS and the Application onto the Read Only partition of the solid state device, the Kiosks (ssd) can provide uninterrupted service breakdowns arising out of OS crashes are minimized.

Further all log files for a transaction are maintained in the WRITE partition of the SSD. ISL also provides a solid state RAID to prevent breakdowns in the case of primary storage failure. The hard disk drive is used as a tertiary storage device and is a repository for all backdated transactions or media files.

  • Power on Self Test Module checks all port configurations of each peripheral and disables non-functioning devices, while ensuring the Kiosk is able to function with minimal services.
  • Runs pre-defined media using Experia components. This can include MPEG4, AVI, Flash or JPGs.
  • Self-healing design maintains all backups of drivers and DLLs.
  • Disables direct access to the Operating System and blocks system critical key strokes.
  • OS is password protected and access can be restricted to defined URLs and Html pages.
